Situationist of the day: Michèle Bernstein

Still waiting for someone to do a biopic on her. Artist/author in her own right, better known as Guy Debord's partner, she authored many Situationists documents, and made the movement more 'assessable' by writing a supplement Time did on the group in 1964.

B/c Jim Richardson does a better summation of her work than I, I'll refer his article in Perfect Duluth Day (dot com):

“Metagraphic portrait of Michèle Bernstein,”1963, collage, ink and oil on cardboard, 63 × 49 cm. By Ivan Chtcheglov, a Situationist who found his way into a mental hospital and never found his way back out again. A rough translation of the words in the portrait: “Cacti do not age.”
